Engaged by an independently owned Brewery located in the North of England who owned a significant number of UK based Pubs. Our role was to assist the Brewery to firstly maximise the tax relief available for the properties and then to decide which pubs should be retained and/or refurbished and which should be divested.
As part of our work we liaised closely with the senior management team to understand the likely profitability of the sites over the medium to longer term and to help decide what type of refurbishment/design would increase the value of the sites, achieving the correct split in floor space dedication between food and beverages.
The result of our work was that we enabled to Brewery to create an investment plan aimed at increasing the value of the properties owned. Furthermore, we helped the firm achieve funding for the investment as well as secure tax incentives for the expenditure incurred. The timing of the construction works was also planned to maximise the client’s use of annual investment allowances.
